India – 9% growth rate by 2022
NITI Aayog vice-chairman Rajiv Kumar has exuded confidence that Indian economy will achieve 9 per cent growth rate on sustained basis by 2022 on the back of reforms like GST, demonetisation and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
Indian economy grew by 6.6 per cent in 2017-18 and expected to grow at 7.5 per cent this fiscal.
He added that this is best time for India to encourage, promote electric vehicles as petrol price is now touching USD 80 per barrel
SBI Q4 loss at Rs 7,718 crore
India’s largest lender, State Bank of India reported a whopping Rs 7,718 crore loss for Mar 2018 quarter as bad provisions doubled to Rs 22,096 crore from Rs 11,740 crore in the same quarter last year.
NPA provisions stood at Rs 18,876 crore for Dec quarter.
The loss was way above Street estimates.
Gross non-performing assets (NPA) for the quarter rose to 10.91 per cent of total advances, from 10.35 per cent in October-December.
First commercial flight of Arunachal Pradesh lands

It was prepared by the Madhya Pradesh Skill Development and Employment Generation Board under youth
The portal will provide the youth with the facility for self registration, updating of job preference, information
regarding employers, sector and online application on the basis of sector and job role.
First crude oil cargo from UAE
India has received the first consignment of 2 million barrels of crude oil from United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its strategic petroleum reserve (SPR) at Mangaluru (on west coast), Karnataka.
This first consignment from UAE filled one of two strategic reserve caverns at Mangaluru under agreement between
1) Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd (ISPRL) and
2) Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
Central Govt under phase I of SPR programme had announced to build three underground crude oil storage facilities with total capacity of 5.33 million tonnes at
• 1)-Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh, storage capacity of 1.33 million tonnes),
• 2)-Mangalore (Karnataka, 1.5 million tonnes)
• 3)-Padur (Kerala, 2.5 million tonnes)
To provide energy security of 10 days of consumption in response to external supply disruptions.
Pakistan among top 3 sources for money laundering
United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) in its report listed Pakistan among top three sources for money laundering in the country.
The other two countries are Nigeria and Russia.
The NCA is non-ministerial UK government law enforcement agency.
UK is prime destination for foreign corrupt and politically exposed people (PEPs) to launder money.
It has identified trade misinvoicing as one of the key mechanisms used for such operations.
Trade misinvoicing is a form of trade-based money laundering.

The Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Maneka Gandhi has presented the prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar 2017 to the members of the INSV Tarini team in New Delhi.
The six-member all-women team comprised six members
The Nari Shakti Puraskars were conferred to the recipients by President Ram Nath Kovind on Mar 08, 2018, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
However, the award could not be presented to the INSV Tarini team, as they were sailing then.
The Six-member all-women team was led by Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi.
